For my figure project I made Harry Potter's owl Hedwig use plaster and paper mache I enjoyed Harry Potter, so I was inspired to design something related to the books and movies. The animal head helped me learn about keeping the stability of a structure.
I Developed my Art Making Skills:
I used an old students work to help me build my base since I had never used plaster before. I started with a wire base stuffed with newspaper which the other student also used. Ms. Sudkamp helped me learn how to use plaster as well as paper mache since I had never used either mediums.
I Created Original Art:
I really enjoy Harry Potter, so I wanted to do something related to the books and movies. I decided on Hedwig, Harry's Owl, but added a twist to it by using pages from old Harry Potter books. The book pages add a twist because it adds another aspect of Harry Potter to the Owl.
