The mixed media was one of my favorite projects!!! I love going through the process of looking through magazines, newspapers, and all the other random things I could find. I really liked stuff out of fashion magazines because the formats tend to be more simplistic with clean lines, and I love that style. The starting process is kind of weird because I felt like a child making a random collage. It wasn't until Ms. Rossi explained the process of continuation of lines and not keeping harsh lines that I felt like my piece had a point. Through this project I realized tissue paper is my best friend. I covers almost every piece I applied to the paper with some sort of white or light blue paper to avoid any horrid harsh lines. I tried to keep this project very monochromatic at first because I want a cohesive look, but closer to the end I realized that everything was blending together. I added some orange to to through in a pop of color but they are still complementary so it didn't look out of place. I also added some gold with tinsel and nail polish swatches to add some more visual appeal. I want to do another mixed media sometime because I found this oddly therapeutic.
